Job Description

To ensure effective andefficient daily port activities through smooth cargo operations, adherence tosafety protocols, and effective communication among the team and stakeholders.

Funções ou responsabilidades:

  • Operational Effectiveness
  • Set up and prepare production line to ensure readiness for manufacturing operations, crucial for achieving production targets and maintaining workflow efficiency;
  • Offload vessel to ensure timely and efficient unloading of cargo, maintaining operational flow and minimizing delays;
  • Prepare shunting plans to ensure efficient movement and positioning of cargo within the port, facilitating smooth operations and reducing congestion;
  • Initiate cargo discharge and dispatch process to ensure timely and orderly unloading and distribution of cargo, maintaining operational flow and preventing bottlenecks;
  • Conduct cargo quality inspection to verify the condition of cargo, ensuring compliance with quality standards and preventing issues during discharge;
  • Record offloaded stock and loaded trucks to maintain accurate records of cargo movement and inventory, ensuring accountability and tracking;
  • Record and monitor discharge progress and performance through daily reporting to provide real-time updates on operations, identify areas for improvement, and ensure timely completion of tasks;
  • Remediate discharge and offloading challenges and constraints to address operational issues promptly, maintaining efficiency and preventing delays;
  • Manage port operation shift change and handover to ensure seamless transitions between shifts, maintaining continuity in operations and preventing disruptions;
  • Conduct offloading reconciliation to verify and match records of discharged cargo with received quantities, ensuring accuracy and accountability;
  • Sustainable Growth;
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings. Good Governance, Risk and Compliance;
  • Ensure the upkeep of EHSS (Environmental, Health, Safety, and Sustainability) policies and procedures within the Port Operations environments;
  • Ensure that all safety protocols and procedures are followed by production staff, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety guidelines;
  • Perform regular safety audits and inspections of the port and production area to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety protocols; Leading Talent;
  • Ensure that the individual performance management discussions are completed within the policy guidelines, recorded and followed through on personal development areas;
  • Maintain a positive work climate and culture to energize employees, give meaning to work, minimize work disruption and maximize employee productivity.

Requisitos ou qualificações:

  • 2- 3 years experience in a similar Port Supervisory role;
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a team lead / people management role;
  • Language skills: Proficient in Portuguese and English; • Understanding of MS Office tools;
  • Knowledge of MS Office standards; • Experience in team management: at least 1 year leading people;
  • Certificate(s) in Logistics, Supply chain management or Transportation management;
  • Deal with pressure and setbacks, and persevere until the goal is achieved;
  • Demonstrated ability to control own thoughts, feelings and actions;
  • The ability to set goals independently and take the initiative to achieve them.
